Appearance: Colorless crystals, readily supercooled; it is liquid in the presence of a small amount of water. It has a camphor-like odor and is hygroscopic. It forms an azeotrope with water with an azeotropic point of 79.92°C. It is flammable, and its vapor can form an explosive mixture with air. Exposure to open flames or high heat may cause fire or explosion. It reacts vigorously with oxidizing agents.

Product applications:

Used as an internal combustion engine fuel additive (to prevent carburetor icing) and as an antiknock agent. It is an intermediate for the organic synthesis of pharmaceuticals and pesticides, and an alkylation feedstock for producing tert-butyl compounds. It can be used to produce methyl methacrylate, tert-butylphenol, tert-butylamine, and other products, and in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and fragrances.

Packaging, storage and transportation:

1. Store this product in a sealed container in a cool, dry place. Mild steel or aluminum containers may be used.

2. Pack in galvanized iron drums, 160 kg per drum. Protect from sunlight during transportation. The storage or transportation temperature in winter should not be below -4°C. Store and transport in accordance with the regulations for flammable chemicals.
